Therapeutic Approach

Jenny draws on a number of evidence-based therapeutic approaches to tailor treatments that will meet your specific needs. She is a skilled practitioner in:

Jenny will draw on clinical psychology and positive psychology theory, research and techniques to assist you to clear obstacles, form clarity and direction, make active action plans and support you through their application. Below is an explanation of each of these processes.
Setting an Intention
​
The step you are about to take is potentially life-changing and requires a commitment from both you and Jenny.
On you're part, you will be dedicating uninterrupted time to your sessions and to the practices between sessions. This is not a passive process, it takes your full involvement.
Jenny will meet your commitment and will set aside dedicated time for you, for the frequency and duration you require to get the best results.

Clearing Obstacles
​
Obstacles get in the way of us living life fully and can be both internal and external.
​
You may be experiencing situational obstacles, difficult circumstances or difficult people in your life. Or, you might be feeling blocked by internal obstacles that are keeping you stuck, such as a negative outlook, self-doubt, fear, shame, guilt, sadness or anger.

Jenny will closely evaluate your situation, strengths and challenges and work with you to apply effective strategies that help you clear obstacles so your life can start to"flow" again.

Forming Clarity and Direction
​
Knowing where you want to be, rather than focusing on where you don't want to be, gives your actions clarity and direction.
You will work together with Jenny to find direction and build your vision of a more fulfilling and meaningful life, be it at work, relationships, leisure, health or personal development.

Jenny will support and guide you to identify and understand your needs, values and aspirations that will form the framework and the signposts for change.
Growing Through Action
​
Change can only happen through directed, focused and sustained action.
Jenny will help you to identify clear and practical goals that meet your needs and are consistent with your values.
You will work together to identify strategies, build skills and construct steps needed to meet your goals.
Maintaining Gains
​
Change and new ways of thinking and responding can be difficult to sustain, without reverting back to old habits. Consolidating and strengthening new ways of being can take some repetition and conscious application. Jenny will work with you in staying committed and motivated as you form new, more helpful patterns in your life.
